What's Ahead in 2012

High level goals and priorities for the Sustainable Company Pillar over 2012 include:

  • Continuing to measure progress against both short-term and long-term targets, and reporting on improvements against the baseline established in 2011.
  • Rolling out working standards based on the EICC Code of Conduct globally and looking for ways to ensure compliance with the EICC Code of Conduct throughout Brady's supply chain.
  • Evaluating options to improve the ease and efficiency of sustainability data collection, reduce transcription errors, and enhance analysis capabilities to facilitate operational compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Expanding the Green Team model to other regional Brady facilities.

Eliminate Waste
  • Long-term goal to achieve zero waste to landfill at both manufacturing and office locations.
  • Reduce total waste by 5%, normalized by sales, by 2017.
Conserve Energy & Reduce GHG Emissions
  • Decrease emissions of CO2e by 2%, normalized by sales, by 2017.

Preserve Natural Resources
  • Understand and characterize our global water footprint for consideration in ongoing target review and goal setting in our Company Council in 2012.


Continuously Improve Safety
  • Long-term safety goal is zero injuries and zero fatalities.
  • Progress will be achieved through regular monitoring of the incident frequency rate year-over-year.
  • Achievement of site specific program performance goals through our internal management system.
  • Achievement of site specific improvement targets using leading and lagging metrics.
